Daylight Saving Time Updates for Your Phone System

To change the System Date
- Press feature + (00) + (left intercom) + (left intercom) + #101 at extension 10 or 11.
- Enter today's date in the form "mmddyy" (month, day, and year), including leading zeros for single-digit months or days. For example, to enter April 26, 2001, press 042601. A display similar to the following appears:

- Select another procedure, or exit programming mode.

Use this feature to set the time that appears on system display telephones.
- Enter the time in 24-hour notation. In this scheme, the hours of the day are 0000 (12 midnight) to 2359 (11:59 p.m.). Since each time must have four digits, use leading zeros when necessary.
- The time appears on system display phones as a.m. or p.m. (not in 24-hour notation).
To change the System Time
- Press feature + (00) + (left intercom) + (left intercom) + #103 at extension 10 or 11.
Enter a new time in 24-hour notation. For example, to set the time to 2:15 p.m., press 1415.

How does this affect the MERLIN MAGIX® Integrated System?
Since the release of MERLIN MAGIX Release 1.5, you have the ability to program the start and stop dates for automatic Daylight Saving Time adjustments.
How do I change the Automatic Daylight Saving Time feature?
From the administration position, using a MERLIN MAGIX MLX20L or 4424LD+ telephone; press the following menu administration prompts:
[ MENU ] > [ SYSTEM PROGRAM ] > [ START ] > [ SYSTEM ] > [ TIME ] > [ ADST ]
> [ ENABLE ] > [ ENTER ] > [ CUSTOM ] > [ ENTER ] > [ NORTHERN ] > [ ENTER ]
Then:
[ START ] > [ SUNDAY ] > [ ENTER ] > [ SECOND (week) ] > [ ENTER ] > [ MARCH ] >
[ ENTER ] > [ 2:00AM ] > [ ENTER ]
Then: [ END ] > [ SUNDAY ] > [ ENTER ] > [ FIRST
] > [ NOVEMBER ] > [ ENTER ] > [ 2:00AM ] > [ ENTER ] > [ EXIT ]
This procedure can also be accomplished locally or remotely using WinSPM.
How does this affect older MERLIN MAGIX or MERLIN LEGEND Communications System?
If you have a system older than the MERLIN MAGIX Release 1.5, you must continue to manually reset the system time when Daylight Saving Time begins and ends; as outlined in your Installation and Programming guide.
Avaya Merlin Magix Phone System
Changing the time on a Avaya Merlin Magix system is accomplished from the system programming console. The date is change separately from the time.
Changing the Date
- Press Menu
- Press System Program
- Press Exit or Start
- Press System
- Press Date
- Enter the date as mmddyy where mm = month, dd = day, yy = year
- Press Enter
- Press Exit or Back
- Press Home or Exit

- Enter the date as hhmm where hh = hours & mm = minutes
- Press Enter

To set the Time on your Phone System
- From extension 200 or 10 (Operator) phone only
- Keep Handset in the cradle (on-hook)
- Press the intercom/extension key and dial 652
- Enter time in military 24 hour format (example: 2 P.M. is 140000 HHMMSS) – Do not forget to enter the Seconds after the Hours and Minutes!
- Then press Redial and then Speaker.
To set the Date
- From extension 200 or 10 (Operator) phone only
- Keep Handset in the cradle (on-hook)
- Press the intercom/extension key and dial 651
- Enter Year, Month, & Day format (YYMMDD) using keypad
- Then press Redial and then Speaker.
To set the Day of the Week
- From extension 200 or 10 (Operator) phone only
- Keep Handset in the cradle (on-hook)
- Press the intercom/extension key and dial 653
- Enter digit 1 to 7 for appropriate day (Sunday=1, Monday=2, etc.)
- Then press Redial and then Speaker.

To set the Time on your Phone System
- From extension 200 or 10 (Operator) phone only
- Keep Handset in the cradle (on-hook)
- Press the intercom/extension key and dial #652
- Enter time in military 24 hour format (example: 2 P.M. is 140000 HHMMSS) – Do not forget to enter the Seconds after the Hours and Minutes!
- Then press Redial and then Speaker.
